STARSkate

Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSKATE is all about!

The mainstay of Canadian figure skating for over 40 years, STARSKATE offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and artistic skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to complete Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system and the option to perform in Skate Ontario competitions if they so choose. Skaters who have mastered figure skating skills in STARSKATE may also choose to pursue synchronized skating or the Competitive Skate program.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Nickel Blades Skating Club Season!!

We are all so excited for our season to start. Your coaching team has been hard at work to give our skaters every opportunity to make this our best year EVER!

We will continue with team coaching, as a coaching group we know that we are able to
collectively help each skater progress and achieve their best in this fashion.  We are
also focused on ensuring the kids have a safe, fun and encouraging atmosphere.

Over the course of the spring and summer, the coaching team along with the board of
directors have made some changes to the sessions to better meet the needs of the
skaters and their development. The sessions will now be: Pre-Star, Junior, Intermediate
and Senior. You can click on each category listed on the left side to learn more.
