Junior

Once your skater has been assessed at Canskate Stage 5 and can skate without their
helmet, they will be moved to our Junior program. The skaters are taught in a variety of
lesson types including group classes with their coaches, self directed circuits and free skate time. The Junior session is 75% coached by the NBSC coaches. The skaters will all have self directed time in order to prepare them for the Intermediate program. All the Junior skaters will be working on the Star 1- 5 assessments in skills, dance and freeskate. The skaters in the Junior program will also have performance opportunities when the coaches feel they are ready. The coaching team will reach to you with options when the time comes. These skaters will be working on the Star 1, Star 2 and Star 3 tests. The Junior skaters will have the opportunity to skate with the Intermediate Skaters during some of their sessions to better prepare them for the Intermediate session.

While private lessons are not mandatory on the Junior session, they are recommended.

Your skater will be moved to the Intermediate session at the discretion of the NBSC
Coaching Team.

The Junior sessions are as follows:

  • MONDAY 6:30pm -7:30pm  Garson
  • WEDNESDAY 6:00pm -7:00pm  Chelmsford
  • THURSDAY 5:45pm -6:45pm  Garson

There is an “Intro to Intermediate” session on Saturdays (starting in October) that your skater may be eligible for.

Please reach out to the coaching team for more information.
